Privacy Policy
Effective Date: October 2026
Taski.Kids ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting the privacy of our users, especially children. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information in our family task and rewards app.
1. Information We Collect
Parent Accounts
When parents create an account, we collect:
- Email address - for account login and password recovery
- Display name - shown within the app
- Family name - to identify your family group
Child Profiles
Parents create profiles for their children. Child profiles include:
- First name - displayed in the app
- Age - used to customize the experience
- Avatar selection - chosen from pre-set options
- PIN code - for child login (set by parent)
Children do not provide any information directly. All child profile information is entered and controlled by parents.
App Usage Data
We collect data about how the app is used:
- Tasks and rewards - created by parents, completed by children
- Points and achievements - earned through task completion
- Streaks and badges - tracking progress over time
Diagnostics and Usage Analytics
For parent and admin accounts, we collect error reports (Sentry) and product usage analytics (PostHog, hosted in the EU) to understand how the app is used and to fix problems. These are linked to your account by an internal ID, never by your name or email. We do not record app sessions.
For children's sessions, we collect only a small, fixed set of anonymous usage events (for example, that a game was opened or a task was submitted). These events are not linked to the child: they carry a random ID that is not tied to any profile, no name, no age, and no child identifier. They include only an internal household ID, so that we can see how the app is used across a family. We never record children's sessions and never use these events for advertising or profiling.
Messages from Us (Parents Only)
To show parents in-app messages and send them notifications about tips, new features and offers, we share parent information with Gameball, our customer-messaging provider:
- Your email address, display name and preferred language
- Your family name, an internal household ID, and whether you created the family or joined it
- Counts that describe how your family uses the app (for example, the number of children, active tasks, approved tasks and rewards)
- Your device's push notification token
- A few actions you take as a parent (for example, adding a child or approving a task)
Gameball never receives a child's name, age, profile or any child identifier — only family-level counts. You can turn off these notifications at any time in the app under Settings → Account & Security → Tips & offers; task and reward notifications are not affected.
Push Notifications
If you enable push notifications, we store device tokens to send notifications about task approvals, achievements, and rewards. You can disable notifications at any time in your device settings.
2. How We Use Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide the core app functionality (tasks, rewards, points)
- Send push notifications (if enabled)
- Improve app stability, fix bugs, and understand which features families use (detailed analytics for parent accounts; anonymous usage counts for children's sessions)
- Send parents in-app messages and notifications about tips, new features and offers (you can turn these off in Settings)
- Respond to support requests
We do not use information to:
- Serve advertising of any kind
- Build profiles of children, or market anything to children
- Sell your data, or share it with third parties for their own marketing
3. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored securely using Supabase, a cloud database service with industry-standard security practices including:
- Encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS)
- Encryption at rest
- Row-level security policies
- Regular security audits
Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text.
4. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- Supabase - Database and authentication (all users)
- Sentry - Error tracking (parent/admin accounts only, never for children)
- PostHog (EU Cloud) - Product analytics: detailed for parent/admin accounts; anonymous, allow-listed usage events only for children's sessions
- Gameball - In-app messages and notifications to parents (parent information only; children appear only as family-level counts)
- Firebase Cloud Messaging - Push notifications (device tokens only)
- Google Analytics - Visits to our website (taski.kids), not used inside the app
These services have their own privacy policies. We have configured them to minimize data collection and comply with children's privacy requirements.
5. Parental Rights and Controls
Parents have full control over their children's data:
- View - See all data associated with your child's profile
- Edit - Update your child's name, age, avatar, or PIN
- Delete - Remove your child's profile and all associated data
- Export - Contact us to request a copy of your data
To exercise these rights, use the Settings page in the app or contact us at the email below.
6. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account:
- Your parent profile and all child profiles are permanently deleted
- All associated tasks, rewards, and achievements are deleted
- Your profile is deleted from Gameball as well
- Deletion is completed within 30 days
7. Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)
We take children's privacy seriously:
- Children cannot create accounts themselves - only parents can create child profiles
- Children log in with a PIN set by their parent, not an email/password
- We do not collect personal information directly from children
- Children's sessions send only anonymous usage events (no name, age, child ID, or recordings), and never diagnostic or crash data
- Children never receive marketing messages; their data is never shared with our messaging provider
- We do not serve advertisements
- We do not enable social features that connect children with strangers
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting a notice in the app or sending an email to registered parent accounts. The "Effective Date" at the top indicates when this policy was last updated.
